This is because modern windshields are not “just glass”, they are very technically sophisticated. They have built-in sensors and specially positioned areas of tint requiring a very precise positioning of cameras and sensors connected to the ADAS.
No two pieces of glass are identical. The pitch and yaw of the surface of the glass can vary as minute as a millimeter and affect the performance of your ADAS. Even OEM parts fall under this umbrella. Even the thickness of the sealant/urethane used to secure your windshield in place can affect the performance of your ADAS.

If the camera’s position and the angle are off by just a “hair” or a hundredth of a degree, it may throw the entire ADAS off. The Lane Departure Warning system might not react to lane crossing thus causing dangerous condition on the road. The Forward Collision Warning may react to an overpass shadow or another object casting a shadow, as if it was a suddenly stopped vehicle in front of you.
